Erdel is a UK-based software studio that designs and builds custom websites and mobile apps for small and mid-sized businesses. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Erdel.

We only collect personal data that you give us directly. That typically means:

• Reply to your enquiry and discuss whether your project is something we can help with.
• Send you a written scope, quote, or follow-up email if relevant.
• Keep a record of our conversation if we end up working together.

Under UK GDPR, our lawful basis for processing your data is your consent (you proactively chose to contact us) and, where relevant, our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and managing client relationships.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone. We only share it with third-party service providers when strictly necessary to operate our business, for example, our email provider (to receive and reply to your messages) or our hosting provider (to keep the website online). Those providers act on our instructions and are bound by their own data-protection obligations.

6. Cookies and analytics

This website uses only the minimum cookies needed for the site to function correctly. We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy and (where required) ask for your consent first via a cookie banner.

7. How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry emails and contact-form messages for as long as needed to respond and for a reasonable follow-up period (typically up to 24 months) after which we delete or anonymise them. If we end up working together, we keep project correspondence for the duration of our engagement and for up to 6 years afterwards for accounting and legal purposes.

8. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you (a "subject access request").
• Ask us to correct any inaccurate data.
• Ask us to delete your data, where there is no overriding legal reason to keep it.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Object to or restrict our processing of your data.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your rights have been infringed.

9. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, or unauthorised access. No system is 100% secure, but we limit who can access your data and use encrypted services where practical.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Material changes will also be communicated by email to any active client relationships.
